In over 10 years as a senior employee of the traditional tannery Sepiciler, he has also developed top products and markets for Klümpen.

He brings with him valuable expertise that will make us stronger, especially with regard to our international orientation. Metin Bengisu will support our partners and projects from Germany. We are looking forward to it!

Leather punching waste is applied in fine powder form, at high temperatures, to recycled polyester as a carrier material on both sides and cooled again. In pieces of 1.50 m x 2.00 m, they are dyed in a drum and then stretched and dried. The final color is produced by spraying. As the carrier material does not take on any color, a light stripe remains. The effect and softness are adjusted in the mill barrel and the articles are limited in thickness and design. Standard is 1.3-1.5 mm - non hydro - 11 colors standard color catalog. Softness is BLC 3.5-4.5.

The doors of the DESMA exhibition opened at the end of September. The trade fair is a networking hotspot. We meet our partners from all over the world here. We had interesting discussions with the trade visitors on the subject of leather innovations, leather transformation and 3D printing.

Lineapelle is the most important trade fair in our industry. We were there again, of course. LAMB SOFTY is a natural grain leather with a thickness of 0.7 - 0.9 mm. The surface is natural and has a thin finish. 0.5 - 0.8 m² hides are characterised by a fine and pronounced hair pore texture. Rolling in the drum and the final cleaving (mechanical loosening of the fibre structure) produces a super-soft but supple leather, which is characterised by a softness of BLC 5.0 - 6.0 and a voluminous feel.

We had a visit from China at the end of February.Our guest was Henan Prosper, one of the largest leather distributors in and from the Asian market.

The discussions centred around the topic of quality management at Klümpen.

Although the trade fair attracted fewer visitors overall this year, it was a top trade fair for us. Our themes relating to the leather colour collections were once again very popular.

Using the Pantone trend colours from the fashion and lifestyle worlds as a guide is a good conceptual solution. Many brand companies are currently looking for such strategic approaches.

We are pleased to report that many new international contacts have been made. We look forward to meeting you again at the next Lineapelle in Milan at the latest.

Sorin Nicolau, the owner of our partner company Lenox, climbed Mount Aconcagua in January. Within 10 days, his water-, wind- and weatherproof shoes carried him up to an altitude of 6,962 metres. A strong performance by man and shoe.

Lenox shoes are made from our "Bull Dolphine" leather, which is available in classic black (1.8 - 2.0 mm) and Premium BLC 1.5 - 2.0.

We grow with the challenges that arise from the development of new leather looks. For example, we have realised the finest nubuck leather in "Street Artists Style" using an innovative spraying process.

We are currently developing the USA Collection 2025 with our overseas partner, focussing on nature. Natural leathers with an oiled or greased look, natural textures, natural mill breakage, unembossed and without pigment with vintage and two-tone effects ensure an incomparable softness and feel. The leathers have been approved for series production.

We donated to the children's hospice for Christmas! Merry Christmas, especially to those who are not doing so well!

Our LWG-, Ökotex-, ReaCh- and CADS-certified leather is now on the feet of the Austrian military. The high-tech combat boots made from Klümpen leather are produced by our long-standing partner Rukapol in Austria.

In November, Markus Bangert and Rico Kühlmann visited one of our partner tanneries that produces LWG Gold certified deerskin. We are already developing leather in new Pantone colours for the 2025 season from this particularly high-quality raw material from New Zealand farms.

After a four-year break due to coronavirus, A+A finally took place again in October. The trade fair was once again very well attended and the general mood was great. There was great joy to see everyone again. Overall, we felt that A+A was even more international and bigger than before.

In the network with Flecksteel, we had numerous appointments on the subject of safety footwear. The highlight at the stand was the presentation of the first biological, recyclable and thin-walled protective toe cap. An innovation that is not yet available on the market and is only to be marketed to exclusive customers. It was very well received by the top safety shoe brands.

BLÅKLÄDER is the leading Scandinavian brand for workwear. At the invitation of the management, we met at the headquarters in Svenljunga (Sweden) at the end of September.

The aim is to strategically supply leather to the production facilities for safety and outdoor products and to establish an exclusive supply chain for all items in order to guarantee stable quality and prices. The first Klümpen leather variants have already been listed.

Managing Director Oliver Helfrich held constructive talks with the company Rieker in August.

Jaroslaw Baszynski gained over 20 years of experience as a shoe finisher at ARA AG. In the future he will support our team in all technical matters.

We are happy to have a new competent and friendly colleague in Team Klümpen.

In July, our CEO Oliver Helfrich was at APEX for planning meetings. The strategic plans were approved.

Sunghyun Vina, one of the largest shoe producers in Asia produces in the highest quality, Klümpen leather, for the European market.

The company Makara produces hiking boots made to measure and that from Klümpen leathers. During a joint hike with Mr. Makara, our colleague Andrej Vacko was able to see the handmade hiking boots for himself.

Word gets around - if there is something new, it is at Klümpen. In this sense very interesting discussions took place. There was hardly a brand producer who did not stop by the Klümpen booth for a chat.

We had a good exchange with our business partners and could establish many new international contacts. Often the discussions were about the development of individual strategies and our supply chain concept, which has a great resonance throughout the industry.

Many discussions have already resulted in concrete partnerships. Some interested parties were visited directly from the Lineapelle in order to develop joint strategies.

BOSP trekking shoes have also been developed for professional use by foresters, hunters and mountain guides and meet the strict standards of EN ISO 20347:2012 OB E WR CI SRA.

We are a cooperation partner of QuickDry Frame. QuickDry is a leather coating to ensure better moisture transport. The coated leather is used for shoes to keep the feet dry.

Currently, shoes for the safety sector and for trekking are made of QuickDry-coated leather.

Our leather Bull Nubuck classic, Bull Waxy classic, Cow Nubuck classic, Cow Gore classic and Cow Relax classic are now certified LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX. On 31.05.2021 an LWG audit was carried out by the LWG auditor Jutta Knoedler at the Klümpen headquarters in Kevelaer. Not only all suppliers and supply chains were checked for their LWG suitability and affiliation, but also quantities, transport routes, permits, certificates or waste disposal. In the presence of the owner and CEO, Mr. Markus Cornelissen, the house Klümpen has again explicitly committed to the LWG Trader Protocol 3.0.1. The goal of the house Klümpen is a complete and transparent supply chain of sustainable, environmentally friendly, socially just and with high responsibility for the living animal created leather.

The LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide standardised testing and certification system for leather and leather products at all stages of production. This includes articles from the semi-finished product (wet-blue, wet-white, crust) to the finished end product.

The procurement markets for leather are in great turmoil worldwide. Prices and qualities are subject to seemingly arbitrary fluctuations. Since it became clear at the beginning of 2020 that we were facing a pandemic which, in all probability, would have an impact on our global raw material markets, we have reacted decisively.
We were able to pre-order large quotas in all key countries of origin and secure the availability of our most important ranges for the long term. As a result, we can now guarantee our customers absolute planning security in terms of price and volume availability.
Our unique corporate policy (Leather for Brands) proves its worth especially in turbulent and difficult times.

For several weeks we have noticed a continuous increase in industrial leather demand.
Many of our customers are already back to 100% of pre-Corona demand.
Some of our stock-on-demand customers are even increasing their production significantly above last year's volumes. This is certainly also related to the fact that in many markets it is now a matter of who gets out of the starting position the fastest.

To ensure smooth logistics processes and the highest possible service and process quality, we have brought our headquarters in Kevelaer up to the highest level of digitalization.
Our partner, the Mesonic software company, is currently completing the implementation with final control steps.

Our entire range of decorative natural products has been listed with Metro Germany since March this year.

The move started in november 2019. After a great team effort, the entire inventory is now located in our new logistics center. Life finds it`s way onto Engelsray 1 in Kevelaer and offers our customers only the best.

On 16th of November 2019 the move to our new Headquerters has officially started. The new shelving system, with a capacity of 7.000 pallets has been completed. The new consignment hall also leaves nothing to desired. Step by Step the shelves, the hall and the office building are being filled with life. …… to be continued

On 01.02.2019 we are expanding our sales team with the new Key Account Manager Markus Bangert. Many years of experience as sales manager at Jomo Thermoholding assure our brand manufacturers competent advice and development of new products.

In November, a wide product range partnership covering Trekking, Military and casual sectors was signed with Alpina Slowenien for 2019.

Since 15.11.2018 we welcome our new representative for southern spain with headquarters in Elda – Alicante.
COPICO is responsible for all shoe factories (casual, trekking, safety) as well as leather goods companies to the south of Madrid, Menorca and Mallorca.

Due to increasing demand for sustainably produced leather, we are expanding our product range to include vegetable tanned sheep leather. Hide-wise inspected and trimming is part of our standard.

On 05.11.2018 we have successfully completed the the PFI Audit  for Oekotex certification for the first Articles.

Our in-house team continues to grow. since 01.08.2018 Maria Wagener, former Mercedes Herbrand, is the new face of our accounting.

Our Team „Kops“ wins the overall victory and was announced the 2018 Dutch Champion. In 2019 we race for the European title in 14 races in 8 Countries.

On 13th of july 2018, the Company Arnold Klümpen GmbH & Co KG celebrated the groundbreaking for the new location of the headoffice and logistic centre together with the mayor of Kevelaer Dr. Dominique Pichler and Mr. Holla of the municipality. On the new, 44.000 sqm sized area, they build a 4.500 sqm Logistic centre inclusive test laboratory, a 400 sqm commission hall and a modern, new head office of 600 sqm. The new base fulfills the high requirements of the leather processing industry. Klümpen will move in autumn 2019 into the new buildings.

Processing and the quality of new items being checked in Production. Lining leather also checked and no processing problems. This means colours and quantities can be discussed and agreed for the coming A/W 2017 season.

Rico Kühlmann strengthens our team in the field of purchasing and product development from 01.09.2017. Constantly on the way for the customer, on site at our suppliers.

Klümpen will be sponsoring the 2016 Dutch champions, Kops and Kuijpers, for the coming 2017 sidecarcross season. This season the team will be competing in the Grand Prix Europe 2017 wearing Klümpen leather boots. We wish them every success.

Haix’s new, modern production plant is located in Croatia. Haix is a leading global manufacturer of fire service boots, with head office in Mainburg.

The whole of Klümpen’s “ASIA” team and the “PROCUREMENT AND SALES” management team from Germany met at APLF under the motto “KLÜMPEN GOES ASIA” for a mutual update about quality standards and markets in Hong Kong. The resulting “EFFICIENCY” product strategy automatically allocates the correct sources of leather to customers.

We visited Haix’s production plant to discuss customer-specific quality requirements with Ivan Banovic (Haix’s head of quality assurance). We discuss the quality requirements to develop product-specific leather for our customers.

The owner has personally put in new items in split hide in thicknesses of 2 mm and over and accepted the first quantities. Exclusive sales partner Damjan Femec (right) has attracted great interest from our customers with the new European quality leathers. Following presentation, all the critical material production stages are carefully monitored with the customer. Only then are they listed with the customer.

Damjan Femec (right) presents the new nappa items to Peter Oblak (left), which Alpina is to use from the coming Chamber of Trade 2018 exhibition. With a total of 8-10 colours, this means Alpina no longer needs to monitor merchandise and advance planning at overseas tanneries. In future supplies will be delivered from our logistics headquarters.
